OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES
Richard Carlton Consulting has developed a web enabled FileMaker Pro/Lasso solution that allows the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services to collect and maintain hazardous materials information as set forth in California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 27.
This solution is unique in that it enables private businesses within San Joaquin County, with reportable quantities of hazardous materials, to report these materials to OES directly over the internet, via a web browser. Submitted information is made available to OES staff in real-time, allowing review and processing of the information, without delay.
The challenge was to completely redesign their current tool and build a high performance database to handle projects and campaigns
The solution was a system that built RFQs to send to print partners in addition to crafting, managing, and tracking schedules.
The benefits were many, including a new, less costly system that improved effeciency and effectiveness accross their line of business. The system is also more intuitive and flexible, deploying necessary items quickly.
The challenge was to enhance the use of SASI while keeping
costs down, taking advantage of the robust
network infrastructure, and building on existing
user knowledge of FileMaker Pro.
The solution was construction of an in-house database
solution built around FileMaker Pro.
The benefits were consolidation of all student test
scores for the entire district in one
easy-to-use source.
Also, we created controlled access to entered data that
provides data security and reliability.
Lastly, we created the ability to streamline reports for analysis and fitting.

The challenge was to create a needed database that would store files for up to seven years, with the ability to efficiently retrieve prepared files.
The solution was the addition of an appraisal module to the template and incorporation of SuperContainer that allowed property pictures and descriptions to be inserted.
The benefits were the tracking of clients and contacts and allowing employees to see all aspects of a property.
The challenge consisted of: no existing information management
system, marginal support from IT, and a limited budget.
The solution was reached when we constructed a FileMaker based database
for management of patient records. We also created support for in-patient and out-patient services. This included; faxes and emails to doctors, sent automatically. The database is used by doctors, medical records personal, billing people, and insurance reviewers.
The benefits were HIPPA Compliance with FileMaker Pro 7, and high reliability, for 24/7/365 hospital use.
The challenge was to build a complex database design in a 60 day development window and a limited budget.
The solution was the construction of a FileMaker based database for inventory management, in addition to database support of complex reporting requirements, and bar coding.
The benefits were the retirement of the old command line database
system, and improved functionality with the new. After three months of use, the new system has paid for itself, in comparison with the maintenance costs of the old system.
